Arike Ogunbowale

Arike ogunbowale (born on April 2, 1985) is an American professional basket ball player. She is a player for the Dallas Wings and the Women's National Basketball Association. She was a college basketball player with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, prior to being selected by the Wings as the 5th overall selection in the 2019 WNBA draft. Arike Ogunbowale was born Milwaukee Wisconsin on March 2, 1997 to Yolanda Ogunbowale and Gregory Ogunbowale. Mario Ogunbowale (26 years) and Dare Ogunbowale (19 years) are her two older brothers. As the youngest of her siblings she was the one who was most spoilt from her family. Her father Gregory was a soldier in the Nigerian Army for quite some duration. Ogunbowale has a thriving family background. Her mother Yolanda played softball at DePaul and her brother Dare is a football player. She played for her aunt in volleyball at UAPB as well as Endia is a Volleyball player on the team at Tennessee State. Ogunbowale has been on the Honor Roll of her school for three years straight. In addition to her fame, she has been awarded numerous awards during her education. Arike received her diploma at Divine Savior Holy Angels High School which is within the town of Arike's birthplace. She played three varsity season while she studied there. Ogunbowale led her team to multiple victories using her outstanding ability. The high school season she played in was compiled with 73 starts with 1,477 career points and 739 career rebounds. Ogunbowale has won gold at the 2013 U16 FIBA Americas Championships and 2014 FIBA U17 World Championships as well as the 2013 3x3 FIBA U18 Championships. On 7 July 2014, Ogunbowale was selected to the USA Youth Olympic Women's Basketball Team. Ogunbowale, who is entering her first year of collegiate play and was named to the ACC All-Freshman Team. She was even congratulated by the legendary Kobe Bryant after she hit numerous big shots during the NCCA Tournament. Even though she is still just a rookie she has made herself a top basketball player and is certain to follow her dream.
